ISBNs & ISSNs for JACoW Conferences

Contact: Volker RW Schaa (GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung GmbH)

ISBN: International standard book numbers are used world-wide to identify individual books and other published materials, such as proceedings. The JACoW collaboration has acquired a block of 1,000 ISBNs from the German ISBN registrar to be assigned to published JACoW proceedings.

ISSN: An ISSN is an 8-digit code used to identify newspapers, journals, magazines and periodicals of all kinds. The JACoW collaboration has acquired ISSNs for four of their conference series (LINAC, COOL, DIPAC, ICALECPS). In the future all conference series will have an ISSN to be identified as "serial events".
