• Editor/Proceedings Administration / Paper Error Codes lists the problems editors encounter when processing contributions to the proceedings.

A default list of common problems is delivered with the instances of the SPMS. They can be modified via the screen

These codes serve a dual purpose since

• Editors use them to report on processing experience, and they appear in the e-mails triggered to contributors when processing is complete.
• They appear in the statistics that help JACoW editors understand the problems encountered by authors and take steps to be more explicit in the instructions concerning the preparation of contributions.

The most commonly encountered problems in 2021 were:

• References formatting (27%)
• Figure and table formatting (17%)
• Section/subsection headings and paragraph formatting (14%)
• DOI/URL missing or wrong (12%)
• Title/Author/Affiliation formatting (8%)
