- The JACoW BOD’s will be utilizing SLACK App for an open discussion between the board members (i.e quick questions, meeting follow up, topics or discussion at the next BOD meeting and light conversation)
- Meetings will be held the 2nd Wednesday of the month moving forward. (NY Time 9:00am/ 15:00-17:00 Berlin time)
- Talking Minutes will recorded by a different member of the BOD each meeting.
TOPIC: HOW TO USE SLACK FOR INFORMATION SHARING
- Discussed the use of SLACK for Conference communications and how information sharing could be improved.
TOPIC: HOW TO MANAGE INFORMATION
- Discussed the various platforms JACoW uses and we can condense and provide a user friendly experience going forward.
TOPIC: CENTRAL REPOSITORY MANAGER ROLE
- Discussed the role of a Central Repository manager and how additional training and resources can make the role more successful.
TOPIC: “PRE-PRINT” PAPERS FOR PUBLISHING
- Discussion following an inquiry from a conference editor about policy regarding “pre-print” statement on papers published in JACoW proceedings: JACoW policy states that “Only original work which has not been published elsewhere may be published in JACoW proceedings.” The only agreed-upon exception to this policy is in cases where a conference offers a Light Peer Review process, and the papers which are accepted by the Light Peer Review process are published elsewhere. In cases where an author has submitted a paper for publication in some other journal, that paper may not also be published in JACoW proceedings (with or without a 'pre-print' statement).
TOPIC: REPLACEMENT OF CENTRAL REPOSITORY
- With the Central Repository no longer being supported the BODs are research and having discussions on a new tool/platform.
